KALLITHEA

Location:

Kallithea canyon is located in North Peloponnese, in the prefecture of Corinth above Xylokastro and the coastal village of Lykoporia, near the small village of Elliniko.

Specifications:

Its route starts after the gorge of Agios Loukas but has its individual entrance and is about 800 meters long with 24 descents and several dives, for which we always need to check before diving due to the cloudy water from the clay soil of the canyon It has a beautiful relief, nice passages, continuous waterfalls , beautiful lakes, traverses and a maximum height of about 23 meters. The route is not suitable for beginners and in the spring it may have a lot of water and is only for extremely experienced and strong canyoners trained in rapids.

Short description:

Kallithea canyon was secured in 2005 and has received various improvements over the years. Many descents varied. A beautiful detail in the descent of the canyon is the area around the cozy church of Agios Loukas, where Greek canyoners often camp, which is near the entrance path to the canyon. All we need to do is follow it to hit the water. For the exit we follow the pipes out and we can walk towards the dirt road to our cars.
