After his death, in August 2017, in a river accident in California, USA, “Luca Chiarabini Memorial” was created to honour his memory with the mission of participating, promoting and encouraging the sporting activities of caving and canyoning with the contribution to the Luca Memorial Photo Contest.

Luca Memorial Photo Contest is an amazing opportunity for canyoners and cavers from around the world to promote images of outmost beauty, of hidden gems, in the demanding environment of canyons and caves by capturing the moment!
For us, at International Canyoning Festival Greece 2023, the fact that after such an unfortunate and sad event a whole community responded by sending photographs and creating a positive impact in people’s hearts, is exceptionally inspiring. We wanted to pay our respects as well and offer the participants of the Festival a short glimpse, inviting them to compete as well, if they wish.
